The current insurance excess of $5000.00 is excessive.
Assume there is a minor accident which is not the kiter's responsibility but under this no-blame policy a payout is agreed of $5000.00 - I would not feel insured I would feel ripped off.

I would be far more comfortable with an insurance excess of under $1000.00
I would be prepared to fork out more to achieve that.

Is it possible to have a sliding scale of an individual's liability under this scheme.. higher premium - lower liability?

If I have to investigate this - can some one point me to the start of the path??

Thanks

Aquaplow.

Don't have any insurance, kite where no-one knows ya... take a taxi to the beach from the train station so no-one knows where you live...and always carry a fake ID .

If you hit anything or anyone.....RUN boy RUN.......

If you are ever taken to hospital ....deny everything.

Oh Stabber.

I am a member of AKSA and i didnt realise the excess was so high! I would be willing to pay more to reduce it to say $1000. When you think about it any accident involving a third party being injured by a kite is probably gonna cost a hell of a lot. If you kite amongst the general public its a risk, i would not dare go uninsured.

Plow,
Suggest you do the call around, you'll soon find out just how expensive insurance is. Moral of the story is kite safe, have less claims and we'll all pay less.

They are all sharks! I did call a few ins. brokers here in Perth and never got any feedback.
Millions of ppl go skiing each year around the globe, they are not paying so excessive policies when you think for a skiing trip u pay $100 ins. all included and ski 8-10hrs day/10 days. Which is 80-100 hrs for a season.

Last season being on the water probably less than 20-30hrs...We means sponsoring others who are much more on the water than average Joe. Sounds like Socialism, working class sponsoring Party members.
