I have an email address which I try to keep free of spam and so never use it as a contact address on-line or give it out to people other than friends. I did give it to the WA KSA a while ago.

I started getting email spam from a Perth windsurfing/kite surfing shop.

I have no idea how they got it.
. Maybe i used it on a forum or something, but I am curious as to how I started getting spam from them as I have never bought anything from there or even gone to that shop.

Has anyone else been getting "Newletters" from that shop and wondered how?

I emailed a regular poster in the buy and sell section of this forum, asked a question about a board bag for sale. Turns out he runs a Kite shop and emails me spam fairly regularly now.
Being a kite surfing junkie im not to concerned as it saves me having to spend $12 on kite mag to catch up on the latest products.
PS the kite shop is just south of Perth.

Don't be concerned about WAKSA giving your email address to any shops.

As the treasurer I get all of the membership forms and they stay in my office in a file. We do submit them to AKSA but certainly not to anyone with a commercial interest.

Yes, I do happen to own a shop, but I would get so much grieve from all if I did ever use anybodies email address.

Ian.
