Easter was awesome!
Well, Good Friday was a bad, but the rest of the weekend was funtastico.
9 - 5m weather
We did most the weekend wave riding Coronation Beach and beyond.
Blasted a 20km downwinder on Sunday arvo in 2m swell.
Perfect 7m cross shore wave riding conditions.

Had to rub it in

hell yeah man, easter was sick, sat, sun and mon on the east coast was cranking, well at least up at Tin Can Bay it was, near Fraser Island.

Gotta love it hey, forecast was ****, but then presto, magic winds, perfect, got heaps of air, downwinders heaps of cuts on the feet.

Except friday, that was ****house, kite fell out of the sky about ten metres from a family of 5, and im screaming at them to move, for their safety, and they r just blankly staring at me, only to think that the solution to the problem was to climb in between the lines, i **** u not. Man i ran at them so quickly. It was close, and then i explained to them what happened and what to do if that ever happens again, and i think they may have got it.

So what could have been a serious accident which surely would have closed the deal for the ban at cotton tree, turned out to be a safety lesson, just lucky that i pulled the safety and ran at them at the right time. Still cant believe the wind just died instantly though, not impressed!!!

I'll agree pornstar some great easter sessions, boosting of some 2m+ sets at sunset and riding some even bigger ones at the point. Tried to get up to Corro to catch up with you but the conditions were to good to leave here.

WTF ? Dude - you should know better than that. If you cant stay downwind of people, or you cant give 100m clearance upwind (just in case you need to pull the OSR handle) due too many people than you shouldnt be kiting there in the first place. If you always give a wide berth then at least your showing due regard and cant be accused of being reckless - which Im sorry but thats what you are after what you described.

You never know when the wind may just die or get a freak gust - you should be more not impressed with your actions rather than the random nature of wind.

Now go and give yourself a few uppercuts and dont do that again

Please give up kiting now, so we can all still enjoy the sport without getting banned!![}:)]

from a outsiders perspective, i can understand how that was taken, and i apologise for leaving critical details out!

1.) Ive been kiting for about a year and a half now, and are well aware of the safety of other kiters, myself, and most importantly other beach users.

2.) Im not some poser who practices the sport to look like some hero, or try to impress the opposite sex, i kite simply cause I love it.

3.) When i launched that day, it was blowing a nice constant 19 knots

4.) I launched well well upwind of THE VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF PEOPLE DOWNWIND OF ME on the beach, so that if this exact same thing happened, i wouldnt have had this very problem, as im not some idiot with half a brain.

I was quite happy riding out the back of cotton tree in the waves in the nice 19 knots, minding my own business, however, when the wind suddenly died, and i found myself being taken out in the outgoing tide, i decided that it was time to get back to the beach.

As i was coming in with my kite and board from the current, after about an hour session, i noticed that the beach from where i had launched had suddenly grown with spectators, NOT SWIMMERS, and seeing as though i didnt want to be lunch for some sharks, i had no other choice but to get into the beach. It was all going well, until the wind completely died and then fell near these kids, that happened to be the only kids in the water.

Thats y i wasnt impressed, but sometimes these things happen, and we have to be educated on how to deal with them.

So im sorry for not being able to control the wind, however, its not like i launched in between people on the beach in those ridiculous conditions that unfolded, and its not like i even launched upwind of them in the first place, there was hardly anyone on the beach when i launched.

I did see however, some braindead ****er attempting to launch IN BETWEEN PEOPLE ON THE WRONG ANGLE IN THE WINDOW, right before i warned him what would have happened.

So sorry for the mis-interpretation there fellas, but just so you now know, im not some reckless noob trying to get kite surfing banned for everyone, and im not gonna uppercut myself, and to the ****er that wants me to give the sport up, ive only got one question. Are you perfect?
