Heaps of wind, strong tides, lots of rain... I havn't been bothered to go out in such conditions, but has caloundra been any good? Thinking about venturing out there.

Been pretty wild with a few good days, but unfortunately also with a few serious accidents. There seemed to be a few poor souls who have been dissillusioned by the 100% depower rant and believe a 12+m bow is suitable for all cyclone conditions.

If in the passage and the wind is nukin, best bet is to ride in an incoming tide. If things go pear shaped you will end up at the cafe at the end of Bullcock rather than getting perpetually worked in the break zone. Unless it is a king tide, it doesn't make that much difference when the wind is strong anyhow. Looks pretty good for a few downwinders this week anyhow, and heaps safer than the passage in a strong outgoing tide with heavy conditions.
