does anyone know a cheap and easy way to build a skimboard?

Yeah, go to WA Salvage, they are selling them for about $25. (Seriously)

will probably be destroyed after about a month, but at least you will know if you really want to keep using one.

Wait for the council clean up day, look for some old bits of perspex, my mate picked up two for absolutely nothing!!! They work a treat, we had a great couple of days skimboarding down at Flat Rock camping ground.

Otherwise plywood should work, hit it with a couple of coats of varnish and you're done.

i brought one from kmart for $40.00 and it's sick
or get some plywood and put some laminex on the bottom that should work a treat

Hi,
I used to shape my own skim board; now I think it is way to dangerous and would not step on them again...that's what age does to you..
I used to buy those insulation foam panels (about 3 cm thick) worth a good 5 bucks. Cut the shape, sand it, and then epoxy resine + fibre glass. A couple of coating will do. Too easy, cheap and strong. Mine used to last 3/4 years no worries.

redback make fiber glass ones for around 70 i think and wood ones for about 40 i had one of them and it was great untill it got stolen!
