Hi all just got my first c kite (razor) had a sweet run but first, there must be an easy way to launch in the water after a crash, cuse I'm struggling. Secondly how do you land the bugger, I no I could pull the safety and it will fall onto the 5th line but I don't like to do that cause there is only a small spot to land. I land my other bridled kites by having the tip on the sand and walk up the middle line and pull the top middle line so it falls over. But how do every1 else self land there c kites??

Cheers

When it's windy and no one is around I do 1 of 2 things.

1) release to safety
2) release to safety

If you have a limited zone to land. Just land and release to safety from the water.

When it's light winds, I land the kite by placing to the edge of the window and from about 1m above the ground dive it slowly to the ground and pull the top non steering line. Most of the time it lands leading edge down.

I have no experience with the razor but on a c4 relaunch is either fully depower then pull a steering line or reach up an arms length on both steering lines pull in an reverse relaunch. Once the kite gets well clear of the water, release one steering line and it will spin around and shoot to the edge of the window.
Self landing I drop the kite at the edge of the window, grab the close front line and pull in and down two arm lengths. Wouldn't do it without down wind room for the kite to fly or roll on the line if it doesn't drop le down. Really strong wind I would flag out to that line.
Enjoy

relaunch- grab the bar and yank all the lines towards you then swim at the kite. it will roll on its back and then you just pull on a steering line to launch. or if you have a 5th line you can reach, grab an armful and this will roll the kite on its back. (edit- i've not flown a c kite newer than 2008, they might backline water launch now)

self-landing- either flag out, or practise the methods mentioned above until you get it sussed. if you can grab the fifth easily, another way is to have the kite at 12, unhook, and pull as much 5th in as you can before it drops, that way the kite doesn't swing an arc across the beach- it comes down directly in front of you

Doesn't matter what shape your kite tether launch and land easy as a b or c
