Ok, in the last 2 days ive had a Waroo bridal snap, and a 5th line snap on me :( Waroo bridal was where the pulley sits on the front lines... (Lucky i was standing on the beach swapping boards...)
5th line was where the bar mainly sits...

so how many of you have had this happen on a waroo? (yeah i know ive got like the 3rd oldest one in Australia but hey..)

and does anyone have any tips on stopping it from breaking? im using 3mm Spectra... least i think its 3mm

if you kids looked after your gear more, washed the bar each time after use, and kept the sand and stuff out of it where possible you might get more life out of it!

Hey Rhys,
I just replaced the section of line that was worn from the bridal pully
with a new bit of line about 600 mm long, piece of cake.
My mates 14 waroo line broke in the same place so I replaced mine on my 12 waroo befor it happened.I just did a figure of 8 knott on the bridal line and a larks head and bowline on the new insert so I can replace it
whenever needed.
cheers...Phil

yep Tobes, Death spin till it hit the water, just parked my butt in the sand and waited it out

My pulleys are sand free etc, are running smooth as.... was going to replace them today... but at like $25 for a good Harken (Always liked Harken over Ronstan) pulley no way....

Replacing the bridal was no hastle, did it that arvo :-) I'll do the 5th line when im bored :-S

Bring on the 2007 LF Bars :-)

for $10 its worth making up a new one... well, i think it was like $10 for the 9m.

cos if it goes when ur on the water... your gonna be in real SH1T

that sorta happened on my switchblade. one day i looked at it and the outside covering had worn off. only the rope inside was left. i still ended up doing a downwinder on it kiting the rivermouth the next day for about 7 hours . probly could've held in for a little while longer but i changed it the next day. its easy to fix tho

Washing the bar will help the 5th line.

Keeping the pulleys free from sand and dirt, lubing them, and also keeping the lines clean on the bridle will also help the bridle line wear problem.

I think it's fair to say I have clocked 2 to 3 times the hours on any single size waroo in Bris and not had a problem yet with the above.
I have however got some 2mm spectra in the car incase it does look worn
one day when I'm setting it up (and due to the same issue reported on int'l forums), or also for people with bridled kites in an emergency need at the beach.
