Only way of putting it.....
Had my first lesson today with mark (0412808187) top bloke if your in the gosford area.

Anyways got going with a 5m Cabrina at The enteresnce today and it was a blast. Got the hang of controlling fairly easily body draging with ease ( untill i got high enough out of the water for a wake to smack me in teh balls ) and eventually with a bit of practice got the hang of water launches.

Anyways so all went well for my first time, untill i had a go with a 155 board. Not as easy as some of u guys make it look ahahahah.
Was able to get up for ummmmmm about 2 seconds.

Is this similar to your first times?

If i choose to persue kitesurfing id be doing it al long reef and other north shore beaches. If any1 is willing to aid me while i learn to get up on teh board id appreciate it.

my first time involved several superman style face plants straight over the board. in fact, 2 years on and that is still my best trick

Year lex, your charging.Im a newbie as well, had a couple of lessons and owned my own gear now for 3 weeks. It took me my second time by my self to get up out of the water.Im a surfer, skater and snowboarder and am use to standing goofie. So depending on wind direction i can head out no worries but struggle comming in or vis versa.I have spent my whole life riding boards goofie , now trying to re-train my brain to stand natural as well.Feels awkward but time will fix that.Good luck mate,i know the buzz your feeling, cant wait to be behind that kite, cant sleep at night thinking about it,always looking at flags or leaves on trees to see if it windy enough and what direction.

Cocaine doesn't give a buzz anywhere near as good as that first time on the board... even the face-plant at the end of the short ride is an easier way to come down. So I've benn told... and to think, so many people spend so much money on the cr@p!

Line me up a kiteboarding session any day!

Give up kiting now mate , that is unless you are prepared for a life of windwatching and utter addition to this sport. It will rule your life. Nothing will ever be the same. Everytime you are somewhere on a nice windy day you will be depressed - that is unless that somewhere happens to be on a nice windy beach with your mates.
Good luck mate, I still remember the first time I got up. It was better than the first time I got up .
happy kiting amigo
