Okay I ride as some of you know a cardboard wave, also now a sector 54.

What I'm considering is a board I can use to hold my kites right at their wind range limit for pop and big boost for when there is no swell or flat water on the estuary.

Normally ride ocean side though so something that can handle a small amount of chop ( not a board designed for perfect flat water) but not a board that comprimises heaps of performance for the chop factor 135cm to 140cm.

Any suggestions as I have not stayed up to date on the latest, my last wakeboard was a jimmy Lewis lithuim ages ago, so haven't a clue. I do like cardboards, but airush and north make good boards to. Anyone??

To compliment the wave I'd try a cardboards FR 131 you'll hold it well in high wind and it's a sweet ride.

there are many good twin tips to choose from. I find it hard to go past the underground flx for performance freeride. Such a sweet board perfected over the years by arguably the best board manufacturer out there.

cant complain about the board quality, but the ride of the flx and styx was well below the shinns, the styx in the smaller sizes were a better board, i found a lot of back foot pressure was needed to stop the nose from being burried going out through the wash, a bit too stiff for me and a bit of spray in the face which gives me the s**ts, maybe in flatter water itd be for me

Whats the diff between the Carboard freeride, Fx and cardboard Pro....?

look no further than the North X-ride, designed to hold edge in choppy conditions, and they boost really well, plus the north NTT straps beat every other strap/pad combo into easy submission.
The Pro has become the FX and works best in flat water, they are not design to work in the chop, think Point Walter, or Woodies.
The FR is a great all round freeride board, great for all conditions for the average rider.

Cheers toddy will look into the x ride. Yeh the freeride CB is the go if I tend that way.

Have you thought about the CB Tempo?? yeah i know its a wake style board but look at it this way its an awesome board, built strong, Soft landings, Massive pop, and best of all Aussie made. It has more rocker than the FR but when your in the waves it handles very nice. Great for flat water, chop and waves, Not to out do a designated Surf board though.

One thing Get the correct size for your height! Dan once told me and has been right ever since, that if you measure from your armpit to the ground, that is your ideal board length. He should know he designs them.
Why? as then you are powered on the correct size kite for the conditions and the board is working efficiently.

as far as i know underground are not around anymore and there is no backup on their products.

when did this happen? kitepower can you comment on this? If this is true that is a damn shame. Underground boards are quality.

As far as I am conserned I can't wait to save a bit more to get the Airush Protoy. I had a go on the 2012 and loved it. I normally kite in the ocean but not in surf so I know the chopish conditions

Yeh been speaking to guys here and abroad concerning this board. Seems built to hold a big edge in big winds with comfort, just enough flex but not too much...I want to take my kites right to their limit and even beyond a little so this may suite the specific need I'm looking for. Most of this will be in the ocean. right up there in the mix.
