www.seabreeze.com.au/News/Kitesurfing/IKF-and-KPWT-have-entered-into-a-cooperation-agreement_3173299.aspx

Has anyone heard of this organisation before or is it just something the KPWT invented to help legitimise themselves? IKF doesn't even have a proper web site:
http://kiteboardfederation.com/

So we have:
- IKO, which is independent? and covers land, snow and water kiting?
- IKA, which comes under ISAF and sanctions PKRA
- IKF, which sanctions KPWT

What is AKSA a member of?

Can't we all just get along?

Macguyver will sort it out with a piece of chewing gum, a 5 cent coin and an old 2 line kite.

You are all right - it does seem to be a quagmire of claims and counter claims. All with the best of intentions Im sure but it will take some time for the dust to settle. AKSA is watching and waiting at this stage - unsure of which way to go - trying to follow info as it comes to hand to determine best course of action. Obviously Australian kitesurfing needs to align internationally but until the scene is clarified no action has been taken.
At the moment (all this is just my personal opinion) it would appear that IKA has the edge as far as all-round cred goes but this is not conclusive nor is it AKSA's position.
The AKSA board (reps from each state) would welcome input from members (and non-members). If you have knowledge or an opinion which would be of value to your national association as we consider this issue please let us know about it.
It will not be long before we need to take a stand or be left behind on the international front.
emails on this topic to will be circulated to the board - see www.aksa.com.au
OR contact your own state rep via your state website.

IKO seems to me to be developing into a hugely commercial venture with focus on $$$$

Puppet, My opinion is also that IKA is the way to go because:

- Under ISAF, very strong global body, best chance of getting kiting to Olympics

- Sanctions PKRA, which I don't many people would argue is the premier world tour. I'm sure Jesse Richman is a better kiter than me but he wouldn't get within p!ssing distance of Hadlow/Langaree/Lenton or even Andy Yates (IMHO)

Seems like a lot of empire building going on, and from what I've witnessed over the years think we already qualify for the special Olympics anyway- lets build on that.
