Hi Paul,

We have not long finished a course here in Perth as well as three on the east coast and one in Thailand. I am happy to run another course here in Perth if we can get the numbers. IKO will only allow me to run a course with no less than 5 and no more than 8 persons.

If there are any others who might be interested in another course, please respond to this thread or PM me.

Happy new year and good winds,

Darren Marshall

OK guys,

It would seem we have enough interested parties to put together another IKO instructor training course.

Most of the details can be found by following the following link, it will give you all the info you need. The price is the standard price of $570 USD (it costs much more in many other centres!) Course runs for 5 days.

http://www.ikorg.com/pro_career_kiteboarding_instructor.php?menu_id=3

If February 8th is OK for everyone, I will go ahead and register the course with the IKO.

Please contact me privately to confirm your interest.

Thanks to all,

HI guys and girls,

OK, due to interest in the instructors course we have decided to run a final course in Perth for the season. This will definately be the last west coast IKO ITC of the summer.

Dates will be 8th thru till 12th February. If you are definately interested, please contact me via phone or email to register your place on the course.

What about east coast? There's 2 of us here who are interested (Hervey Bay in QLD) and I'm sure there'd be more if it were advertised.

HI Peeps,

The instructor course is set to go ahead in Perth. All details are available from www.kiteboardingschool.com.au/courses.htm

Please make bookings and find info from the above link. It seems there are many interested and only 8 spots available, first in Best dressed.

Thanks to all,

Hi guys,

I am happy to run courses when we can fill them. I am currently trying to fill the Perth course.

Out of all the interested parties, there are usually 30% that are just tyre kickers and have no real commitment to the course. It was only 2 months ago I ran a course in Perth and Sydney and both courses had a spare seat so currently the number of courses meets the demand if not exceeds it.

If we fill this course, I will gladly do another course perhaps on the east coast or maybe in SA or Vic.

From memory, to date I've done:
4 courses in New South Wales
4 courses in West Oz
7 courses in Queensland
0 courses in Victoria
0 courses in South Oz
9 Courses overseas.

It costs me more than $1500 in lost revenue, after I've been paid, to do a full course of 8 persons in another state, not to mention the stress it puts on my family to have me away for 7 days. I have no problem in doing that because I love to teach and give back to the sport, but it is even more costly to justify a course with only 5 bums on seats. With a full class, I can at least be fully effective and minimize my losses.

Like I said, IF we fill the Perth course I will consider a further course, but till then, I have no plans of any further courses at this point in time. I hope you understand.

Good winds,

Darren Marshall

12th february and the 30th march.
during this time i would definately participate in a course.
if it would be in perth it would be the best for me otherwise i have to look if it is possible.
