We are looking to do a (short) WA trek over 3 weeks. Our plan is to arrive in Perth and drive north. Is this a good time or do we need to re-plan. Any info is good, Thanks, Tony

hey dude... may is a bit late for the sea breeze so your going to be relying on frontal winds. make it earlier if you can.

hope this helps

Sorry too late for Perth

May is the start of the doldrums until the first of the real frontal stuff arrives in June/July. You might still get some good kiting up north around Shark Bay (easterlies) but can be sketchy even up there

Hey Tony,

May is great for surfing and spearfishing. Total glass off afternoons, nice water clarity with some swell, nice!

The season is well and truly done and dusted by mid to end April.

Better luck next trip.

Good winds,

In May this year we got about two weeks of strong and consistent Easterlies in Perth, which were great fun down on the river.

But....

What everyone said is right and I wouldn't rely on it happening again. It may do, but it's not the kind of predictable stuff you get with Perth's sea breezes.

Sk

(It does seem to me the seasons are drifting later tho...)

Thanks to all who replied. I thought as much, however, local knowledge is always good to have. Going to try and make it earlier. Peace, Tony
