I am moving to Los Angeles for work and would like to know if there is any kiting in LA or near by. If anyone has any experience on this it would be great to hear about it. Cheers

There will be ****load of kiting spots and kiters. Sell your gear here first (unless you co. is paying for the move) as gear is a alot cheaper there.

Pismo Beach has a good wave scene- that is where Ian Aldredge is based.

I'm in L.A. now. Newport, Huntington, Seal beach, Belmont shores are all kiteable. It's very marginal compared to oz standards. Unfortunately blows a consistent 11 knots every day this time of year, with the odd day stronger. Seems like a late summer. Lots of big kites. More wind further north. Here is a link with all info

Don't wanna spoil the fun, but if the wind is somewhat similar to San Diego, kiting is gonna suck. Unless you don't mind flying big kites..

I'm heading to San Francisco in about three weeks..
if you get a few days off should get an RV and head up to
Sherman Island on the Sacramento Delta.
goes off there!!

SF has the winds for sure, LA is very light.... further north you go the stronger the winds are but the colder the water gets, its abit of a trade off.
