Fantastic friday was the summary for today in Cairns. ARRIVING AT THE BEACH TO A SOLID 18 kts at 9 am which is unheard of in this part of the world.
Pleanty of crew hit the water early and by 12 pm 60 kites were scattered along the 2.5 km beach.
The mens open need an eliminator round to cut the 24 crew into 12
two strong heats hit the water and the level of riding was very solid.
Paul Jackson stood out above the rest and will be hard to beat tomorrow in the fianl.
Sean Craike and Mitch Brown - both juniors made it through with ease.
Saturday sees the fianls shootout for all division in what is shaping up to be another epic day of wind ....
Seems like the gods are paying us back for the inconsistent conditions we had for the last 2 years.... praise the lord.
25 kts forcast and sunny skies ......it doesnt get much better.
Look out for the video updaye from boxburg on here.
