Wicked wind on the Goldie today. 25 to 32 knots from 1.30 till 6pm at Loders Creek.

The crew had some interesting rides/crashes with the best of the day going to Franko.

He dropped his kite down into the wind shadow of the caravan park to make a high speed turn. Pulled it hard for the turn and found that he had way to much left lock on when the kite (15M Slingy) came out of the shadow into 30+ knots. 105 kilos of Franko lept into the air like a scalded cat and created a huge splash where he finaly landed. Da Boyz went off on the beach.

Patrick was pulling huge airs and hangtimes on a 12M Waroo and finally came in for fear of his knees being shunted through his shoulders.

Scottie was being constantly pulled off his edge but had a huge smile on the dial.

Johnno and I were experimenting with the lift generated by simply pulling the bar in on our Waroos. Just like an elevator control. Pull in you go up. Sheet out and you float back down. Excellent !!!

Richo, Ricardo, Mike, Erik and a few others all had a ball.

Noticed Greenie from Surf FX out with the Poleys on a super looking rig. Guess he noticed the wind speed, dragged a mint rig off the shop wall rack and hit the water. All we could see was a blur as he rocketed by. Smooth lookin rig Greenie

Dave on holidays from Adelaide sat out the session but promised to join in the fray tomorrow

Great day and there is more tomorrow

tell you what fitzy, it was a challenge to hop on the poley in that wind, and it was good to see scottie and richo up at the windwakkers sandbank boostin away! (downwind a bit helps, all that hardware at high speed is a bit daunting) such good wind, my forearms have turned to cement! not an issue in kiting.

Arrived at Loders around 5pm... to see Franko, Scottie and Erik (the only guys left - packing up) Franko had a huge smile on his face and told me he had trouble keeping his edge in on his 15!! No mention of the mega accidental boost....

Bugger - missed a good session - but no fear, I will be on board tomorrow! Hopefully will be enough wind around for my 12 as 16 rib bladder valve decided to unstick itself from the hole... Will is looking after it but can't see him finishing for tomorrow so fingers crossed for 20knots+

Might have to try a few boosts again altho a bit ginger now after ripping my groin off the pelvis 4 weeks ago (physio said I lost 1/2 litre of blood during the bleed - that's after icing it for 60mins within 30mins of the incident and again before bed that night) trying a few nice boosts for the 1st time! Still going to physio once a week... fingers and groins crossed

goods winds, great times and safely home....to all.

Yep. Know what it's like to tear the groin Joffa. Did the same injury about 12 years ago Rollerblading along Bundall Road at 10pm one night.

Just going over the Bundall Bridge when some traffic came up behind me. Went for a reverse jump over the medium strip and caught a wheel on the bump. DID THE SPLITS .... OUCH

Had to pull myself along the house fences by hand to get home and woke up with an inner thigh full of blood. An operation and 2 months of physio and walking like I had suffered a stroke. The bloody adductor muscle is the one that centalises your leg when you walk. Tore it off the bone.

Still bothers me after all these years due to calcification of the muscle. Gusty port tacks give me **** for a few hours later, but hey that's what we get for having fun eh ??

See Ya at KFC/Loders tomorrow

**** Fitzy.... sounds like you did more damage than me to your groin... OUCH!!

I do know the feeling now tho... adductor muscle difficult one to fix and I tore it right on the pelvis too... The physio and I have become very very good friends over the past few weeks.... I normally would only let a female that far up my leg!! Altho I did have an incident at a live sex show in Hamburg many years ago and it did look like a female at the time.... too much information!! Still paying 3 American guys to keep that one under wraps... ssshhhh

Well the session was good today and tried some more of that anti gravity stuff, man I must look funny try to land! More wind than forecast, can anyone take seabreeze seriously anymore! Hope they wrong again tomorrow...

For the sake of real time communication if any of u guys use messenger just add me [email protected] also on SKYPE (jeff schneider - Gold Coast)

Slowly getting to know the goldie crew thanks for your hospitable reception to an old windwanker... Oh that reminds me... nah not that! Anyone heading to Caloundra for windwanders meet?

Hello to the Goldie Crew. I am heading up there on Saturday to stay at Rainbow Bay for a week. Will promise to bring a strong southerly with me. Could you lads please let me know if D'bar is ok to kite in a southerly and if I am able to kite at Coolongatta or Kirra in a northerly wind. I dont want to cause you blokes any hassles.

Cheers

Dbar is not suitable for kiting due to cliffs and river training wall. Also it is a Surfers Hotspot and we couldn't vouch for your safety if you attempted to drop in there. You would be outnumbered 300 to 1.

North Kirra and Bilinga are fine as the northern beach section is very wide and beachgoers are pretty thin on the ground.

Use common sense and stay away from any swimmers and flagged areas.

Enjoy your stay

Joffa

The KFC crew are always helpful and pretty safety minded.

Noticed a few of your airtimes. Just try to land on your board and not on your head. We had to fill in all the holes you left in the sandbanks after you left.
