Weekends are clearly becoming a three ring circus on the metro coast.

Yesterday and the Sunday 2 weeks prior were classic examples of what happens when too many kites ascend on the coast and there is a total lack of courtesy to other kiters.

The problems of numbers are compounded by different lines being ridden by different kites:
- Those doing the surf downwinder and riding waves on surfboards
- Those doing triangles
- Those on twinnies
- Those who fly straight downwind oblivious to other kiters lines in and out, and
- Those launching in the path of kiters riding a wave in.

We need to chill people, give old mate a thumbs up instead of a "fark awf" and be aware of fellow kiters and varying abilities as the water is for everyone to share.

There is plenty of space for everyone is we can get our heads out of our behinds and be kind to one another...

I agree, seemed a few that were dog determined to stay in the wave zone irrespective of other water users.

Don’t think I’d be impressed if I was one of the surfers tucked behind the North groyne at City Beach.

Stop whinging and love the circus, go elsewhere, or put on a police uniform and make order out on the water.

Going to rock today and guaranteed not crowded

Missed the whinging part... and don't worry I do get out early weekdays for uncrowded sessions. Was just an observation that there's room for everyone if everyone has a little respect for their fellow kiters.

All that red deserves an explanation. This topic is as old as the sport itself. Everyone really does the best out there that they can and want to do the right thing. The way to explain the local rules is to track the people down (miss out on your own kite) and explain things. The screw ups who haven't got a clue often can't read English, are totally selfish fools, 100% kooks, but most of all....................they don't read this crap.

On the upside, you can drive 40min out of the city and you have the entire beach to yourself.
In Sydney you can drive for 40minutes, and still be waiting for a break in traffic to get out of your driveway!

What I don't get is why so many love to kite so close to the shore line. Sh_ts me no end, and I reckon it happens at most spots.
