As a supporter of his achievement you may have a strong claim to some validation and recognition, but if that's what you're after it will help the young bloke's sanity (and everyone else's) for you to name and take explicit responsibility for your own goals, achievements and needs for acknowledgement, even if they overlap with his.

Youngsters need support, and their supporters deserve credit. Youngsters don't need to be held up in public as trophies in other people's ego games. It can be a fine line for sure, so as blunt as these words are I hope their constructive intent is apparent too.

as much as pgc's endless crappy photos, video edits and plugs annoy the hell out of me, i'm sure it all comes down to just being a dad who is rightly proud of his boy and wants to promote his skills. i think he only wants recognition for james.

Cauncy - Judge away if that's your thing, but I went to Taree High School (not exactly posh) and was windsurfing every spare moment on gear I paid for by delivering papers, gardening for neighbours and other odd jobs.

I didn't become interested in language and communication until my 20s. Public libraries are free. Anyone can learn to write well if they'll take the time to read well.

Intelligence is the level of understanding one can gain from a particular environment. The best boxers in the world are very intelligent, as are the best physicists. It involves the whole nervous system, not just the brain.

Insight is something that comes from .intelligence and experience. hindsight is easy.

There's no such thing as a stupid question, yet there are stupid answers bred from ego, conjecture, superstition and speculation. People dont learn a lot from success, but lots by failure and not giving up.

Education: gaining intelligence through experience is so low on the average Aussie agenda compared to most parts of the world makes us not the lucky country, but a joke. Taking the piss out of someone who is more intelligent only makes you look like one.

PGC is a good father as he spends time with his tin-lid/s, definitely not just a sperm donor. I dont know if he is too enthusiastic or not as I dont know him. It is a fine line between encourgagement and pressure. If James wants to be a professional kiteboarder, my suggestion would be to show him how to market himself, edit his own clips. pick his favourite photos, be social media savvy, and share his stoke on a great sport.

Sean (pgc) Carew is a complete and utter frother for sure, and along with brothers Justin and Dave the Merrimbula Classic would be less without them. They are the most helpful guys there, break something, they are on it, need a hand with anything, you've got one. James is a great rider, very talented, and also very friendly just like his Dad and uncles. Proud Dads are allowed here surely?

Its Funny I used to skateboard in comps and my Dad used to take pictures of me. He was stoked if I came Last or First as long as I gave it a go.
