Just kidding. I was doing this occassionally when hitting little steep waves face on and accidentally leaning back on on my trailing foot too far which meant rotating around backwards and flying downwind upside down, the whammo on the back of the neck!!! Being dragged upside down backwards through the juice is not fun.
Weirdly after some advice on how to complete the backroll properly (which I wasn't actually intending on) I now know how NOT to invert.
I think maybe you need to lean your weight straight back a bit more, as in directly away from the kite, and less towards your trailing foot as this is maybe making you flip the board out to the side and up above your melon as you boost???
