Hy guys... I have just survived these weird Kiwis... didn't get that much wind though.
I just got a car and I am looking for some nice beaches for Kitesurfing here... and some nice accomodations in and around Sydney! I will travel all the way up to Brisbane and will fly to Perth as well. I appreciate any help, hints and tips!

Cheers,

first thing I'd do is avoid the qantas terminal at Sydney. It's more dangerous than a c kite in gusty winds

Go to Kurnell its the only place in Sydney where it blows.
Great flat water friendly locals and even an air compressor to pump your kite up.
What more could you ask for.

Kurnell is gusty and ****, plus the guy who owns the compressor is a cranky bastard who will let you use it, but will run you into the groynes afterwards for doing so and snake you just when your about to hit the flatwater.

come on guys lift your game we're not that stupid.

from the kitepower website..........

Description

A real " All in One " kiteing experience to suit everyone.

The Core Combat GT is a Delta kite that morphs all the positives of the C and Bow Kite to give you the Explosive Forces and the Direct Feel of a C, with the Vertical and Low End Power of a Bow and as a Fully De-Powerable 4 Line Kite it still offers the safety associated with a 5 Liner.

Combine this with Auto Re-Launch and a One Pump System and this kite just about offers the lot.

A really true "All in One".

Actually I'm surprised that Core is here in Australia already... when I started my worldtrip they weren't... at least I was told about that!
So we really don't know about each other (Kitepower and me)... of course I have no interest in selling my kites as I'm going on to Bali and Egypt or Israel as well! So guys: Take your chance and give it try! Experience and enjoy kiteboarding Made in Germany!

Actually.... I couldn't manage my whole worldtrip depending on wind... unfortunately!
I startet in Brazil mid october, went shortly to LA in january, then two months in NZ (Yeah... some wind here and there!). Now I'm in OZ for about 10 weeks... and will go to Perth as well.
Of course the focus of my trip is on kitesurfing but I'm here for surfing as well...and to meet some Friends, too!
And for others who wanna try it out!

Word is Big Col was out at Kurnell today putting a 9m GT Core through its paces. According to witnesses he was above Centrepoint Tower looking down on the Cabs screaming around the Groynes.....is it true the yellow peril streaking through the air was not his kite but some afterburn from some huge bumchecks....the big bloke takes no prisoners

nope he had a 10.5 ion flexfoil out {from 3 to 6pm anyway} and mostly in the stratosphere and clouds from what i could see
the 'river' had the GT and after some fine tuning from the kkk was getting it dialed in before switching back to his helix after about an hour. was another guy with a GT on a surfboard for a while as well

According to Rick .... Big Col had the Core out in strong wind during the early part of the afternoon. Rick said Big Col really rated the kite...especially its boosting capability.....and we all know thats Big Col's speciality....its a wonder he hasn't grown wings....he spends that much time above the water.... looks like I'll have to give it a go....can't let the big bloke have all the fun...

Hey Nut,

When you have had enough of Sydney, (for me that is the time it takes to get through on the train!), make your way up to Newcastle.

Genteel civilization and, of late, some pretty good kiting.

And if you like great beaches plan to stop off at Laurieton, Coffs Harbour and Yamba on the way to Brisbane.

May the winds blow your way!

Hey Knut,

There is little point in coming to Perth, our season has all but ended. We are about to enter the doldrums of no wind for the next 8 weeks until the storms start brewing and we start getting belted by the W/NW frontal winds.

Pretty tragic time to visit WA unless you go way up north. Up North of Carnarvon you may get some wind. Not much swell around here either until June. Seeing as you are on the east coast, Id stay there and head up North to Cairns where you will get wind.

Besides, Euros have no concept of how far the drive is from Sydney to Carnarvon LOL. It's a quick 5,000km of nothingness. From Cairns it's roughly a short 7,000km jaunt.

Come back and enjoy WA in October, then you'll get the best waves and wind of your life, everyday!

We sell Core Kites over here in Perth and I think you'll be surrprised how many you see on the waters around Perth. Great kites!

Good travels,

Kenood

Hey guys! i had some pretty nice days down in Sydney... especcially at Cronulla with the "nuts"! Thanx guys for ya help!
Even Wanda and SilverBeach (Refinery) were nice locations.

Yesterday I had some fun in CoffsHarbour... with a 9! ;)
And as far as I found out you got some pretty nice winds south of Perth right now... maybe I'm just lucky... or is my kite.......?

And thanx for mentioning distances! It's my third time here in Australia... ok... the first time travelling around in a car! But fortunately mankind and Germany in particular has developed jetflight!
