Hey,

Just about to move to Sydney and was wondering what the wave scene is like? I remember seeing kiters out at Wanda beach before and some threads on the forum seem to rate it. We are thinking about moving to northern beaches or Cronulla and i think the kite spots will sway my decision.
What size kites do you use mostly? Are the Noreaster's good for kiting?

Any advice would be awesome.

th easters are the best its off the water and more consistant.if its waves, long reaf ,narrabeen, palm beach in the north and wanda cronalla in the sth. 9m should do the trick but it depends how good you are and of course your weight.
in sydney the wind seems to blow harder in botany bay than at the coastal locations so flat water kiteing is more popular over all.
personaly id be moveing to dee why area if your after waves you have a few more wind options there.
hope this helps. looking like it s going to better than last summer.

Great, thanks for the advice - i'll definitely have a look at the Northern Beaches.

looking forward to the summer! Incidentally, there are loads of Aussies moving over to the Middle East for work (where we are leaving) - if any kiters are thinking of going Oman, has to be one of the best places in the world from June - Sept.

The S side (Cronulla/Kurnell) is WAAAAY windier than the N side-particularly in summer with the NE'rs-if you're keen to kite 3 days a week N side-5 days+ a week S side.

south side it is then! Although my wifes relatives are threatening to take me to 'the circle of knowledge' at Northies, which i think is in Cronulla.
Sounds like a ploy to expose me as a weak drinking pom
