I'm not at all offended by the content of KBM. I'm not put out that I'm not part of their target audience.

I am however deeply embarrassed by the format of the magazine. The editor is borderline illiterate. They use light text on light background, dark text on dark background. Small, eclectic type faces, typos galore. It is completely amateur and frankly makes me cringe to think it’s a local product.

There are some great photos, but they are ruined by the poor paper and print quality. I know some small magazines can't afford high quality paper, but really, is this the best Australia can do?

Pick up a copy of Kiteworld UK or Flylife from Australia. There is no comparison.

Is it only fossils that want to be able to read easily?

bugger....I wanted to type a long reply....but I've lost my bifocal glasses, and now I can't set the computer to VERY LARGE FONT.

..and I do need my pensioner card today, as I have been feeling sick (oops...that means cool, or should I say, like, kewel dude)...um...off colour then, and wanted to visit the doctor, but he was out performing an autopsy on the only other at kiter at my local, old Winston, pushing 75, had a heart attack after his poodle tripped his lines and caused his 1m trainer kite to launch in a 12 knot gust before he had his gath hat and impact vest done up, poor guy.

This is all too dangerous for an old codger like me. Time to sell the gear and work on my new magazine. GAK.

"Grey Aussie Kiteboarder".

$6.95 (or $5 with your trusty pensioner card)

will be on the shelves next to KBM next month. Let me know if you want one. GAK is SIK. I expect a huge uptake from all the old farts on this forum. But make sure you don't confuse the 2....you could get a shock at the antics of youth today.....I don't know what's happened to young people these days.....back in my day.....zzzzzzz

Is this version of the mag you're talking about different to the PDF web version (ie - an australian one?) It doesn't seem *that* bad...

as in the one from here: www.theringmedia.com/KBMAG/Archive.htm

Or are you talking about an Australian Print version..

I guess I should sign up as one of the younger one's on here... (at 20). I'm paying for all my own gear/lessons/etc... (& would have more to spend - but I've got a wedding to pay for in a few months...)

dont get me wrong I love looking at some of the wakestyle moves in the mag and practise them from time to time myself. But It would be good to see some Varioty in there aswell like some massive jumps when the wind is cranking, there are lots of different styles out there lets see them in the mag. More gear reviews would be helpfull.there was hardly any info on any of the new kites that are coming out this season. It is like these guys at KBM dont even like kite's.
Kitesuffing is about KITE'S!!the wind and the waves. Not about Kickers, sliders,& bleeding ****s.

Sorry beno. Too many slider pics. Would prefer more action in the surf. Not into cable parkin it. It encourages the use of home made sliders clogging the public beach.I think the slider at the Alley is a bad idea and will only help getting us banned. Ps get as much kiting done there. It'll be the last.

You dummy! Take charge of your body before it takes charge of you! Or, learn to spell!

The best thing for your "prostate", the male gland, is to use it!!! The method of "use" is your choice, just use it! (Buying KBM and ****ing hard may save you from prostate cancer, but it is no substitute for enjoying kiting and having a healthy sex-life.)

"Prostrate" is the position of lying face down. The position often used when drunk, or, worn-out from kiting too hard, or, from being on the editorial team for KBM.

Yes, I'm a pr1ck, but I'm an educated one!

maybe KBM should do an article on prostate problems.
A decent instruction on how to check your fellas for lumps and bumps would help the older generation for sure.
helpful and practical...

is a thread full of people bitching about how bad the mag is really classed as an advert?

That being said - I'm tempted to go get a copy just to see what all the fuss is about. (maybe I should just wait for next months prostate edition though)

Hey AZZA,

I wonder if you have to be prostrate to check your prostate.

and when you get around to your date with paulio, regrow the goatie beforehand, he'll appreciate the extra tickle effect(or is that affect).

And by the way. How much would I save in a year if I was to give up buying crap outside my demographic?

would it get me some new kit?
