IMO, the absolute best thing about Kitestock 2013 is that some other group of poor bastards are organising it....sorry Steve, Gareth & crew, I just couldn't help myself.

Frothing to say the least....

Thats one nice bit of history.
Kitestock offers it all. Flat & waves with a few serious breaks not too far from the general allrounder type beach.
VID showed the family friendly - everything on hand vibe of Kitestock extremely well.
Covered all bases there.

After 2 x poor wind seasons in row (with awesome wind before & after both years) Kitestock 13 looks like a certain winner.
Great to get feedback from in-store & on the beach that it hasnt put kiters off what really is a super gig. A gig that is there for only one reason - kiters.
Some gigs may be tops - but Kitestock is the topest.

bring both , the are some great runs downwind to seven and nine mile beach with good rolling swell , if we get swell the bay ,point and river mouth are the go, most of us ride twinnys here, weve had some epic wind conditions here during the last few weeks, with plenty of 30 plus knt days, fingers crossed itll hang around

@ cherub. No.
Accomodation & getting there & back is about all WAKSA doesnt do for you.
You get all meals, shuttles to & fro the pub, shuttle for the epic downwinder, shuttle up & down the main beach, party night at the pub (BYO drinks - ie BUY your own), demo gear laid on by sponsors, loads of freebys & prizes, tunes & shade at mission control PLUS heaps of great company for a weekend dedicated to the kiter.
And the full length of the beach is 2x4 friendly - no problem at all.
Nothing quite like Kitestock
Looking at getting a house this year & sharing costs at pp or per bed rates if you (or anyone else) is interested.
Be great to have all the creature comforts to return to each night.
Anyone keen - pm or call me 0430 966 397

the top tourist caravan park is the closest to the event, full range from swanky cabins to non powersd sites, approx 200 mtr walk and 2 huge boosts downwind to get you home, just got in from another 30knt session, never thought id get tired of kiting , buggered again, might be worth someone from waksa phone the shire and ask them to grade a path along the beach, its still ok for a car just pretty bumpy drive.

Good call on grading the beach. That track behind the weed is bumpy as. Be good if some of that weed moves on by then too as up round the SLSC is thick with it.
Fingers crossed the wind is as good as Aus day weekend. Bummed I'll be missing out but neck deep powder in Japan is beckoning.

We have spoken to the council and the beach will be graded.

Don't forget to register early to avoid a 20% price increase closer to the event time

I'm sure this has been asked in the past, but why isn't this event held sooner in the season. More chance of wind ( starting to get real hot up there that time of year) and much better for retailers etc to make sales. Don't know about most of you but I've got my kite quiver for the year, would have been great to have kitestock earlier on? Just saying.

Still if the gods are kind and they have to be in mid feb ( I'm heading Esperance way by then) then it should be a cracker. Never been I'd like to this year,

It has been said before and we are looking into the feasibility of it. As you can imagine there are several influences at work.

But we are always looking to improve.
