I worked on the salt mine in dampier many years ago, and in summer the wind is really strong and consistant. thats why they put an evaporation salt pond there. winter is a lot calmer for winds. theres a lot of big ocean creatures, manta rays, tiger's etc out in the ocean. the tiger sharks sort of concerned me a bit. I think they are well fed though.
I think you gotta get there on the right tide also.
