I've done a quick search and not really found what I'm looking for - I've got 3 weeks work in Karratha strting wednesday - is it worth squeezing the kit in for weekend seshies?

yep. consistent winds, lot of warm flat water.

dampier harbour (W) or hearson's cove (E) are your best bets.

Now here's a dilema, its kiting or Karijini...

after our sh#$tty winter winds in w.a i think i would be kitiing after all karijini has been there for 160,000,000 years give or take a 1,000,000,
so it's not going anyway and after afew hour you have seen it all , dont get me wrong its a great place, but you cant kite it . you can swim there so all is not lost .

there is also a good spot near cossack that you can kite from se to nw winds massive beach especially if the tides out. the easterly winds up here are pretty good to kite. in my opinion settlers beach near cossack is much better than hearsons cove but its a bit more of a drive. the seabreeze this time of year is a bit light and generally starts from the ne and ends up northerly or nw depending on where you are. the westerly winds which get pretty strong sometimes should be due to start in a few weeks I hope. I work up here 4 weeks on 1 week off and can normally get out after work in spring summer at least 4 days a week if its coming from the west in the arvo. dampier is nice and close to work so its the best spot it generally pretty flat thanks to a man made groin but it can get pretty gusty sometimes but its better than nothing.
hope that helps. if you want any more info dont hesatate to ask.
bring on summer. a better option to karajini if there is no wind here is exmouth only five hrs the sw should be getting close there.
hope that helps
