hey guys,

i seem to break every pump that i have recieved very quickly. the lastest one just breaks in half whenever the kite bladder is about 90% inflated. Surely there has to be a better cheaper option out there......

O2 bottles from a dive shop.

Helium Bottles (Watch this how-to for helium pumps
)

Lungs.

An Air Compressor that attaches to your cigarette lighter socket on your car.(about $30 bucks at Malz or Marlows)

Fill you bladder with foam, then once done kiting roll it up really tight, when you unroll it again, Voila! it sucks the air in.

Harden The F*ck Up.

Hey INfiniDIE, cheers!

I’m sorry if I didn’t realize that complaining about the quality of kite pumps makes me soft! I can't remember stating I needed an alternative way to pump up my kite......

Thanks for you help... really appreciate it.

Btw great board off…... You must be a real hard case!!!!!

I'm just yanking ur chain dude...sheesh.
buy a dual pump from a bike store make sure it has a one way valve and that will stop the air flowing back into the pump from the kite.

As for asking for alternatives?

Hey James,

You must be doing something wrong cause a pump will last me a year easy.

A few hints to make sure your technique is correct.

1/ Make sure BOTH feet and hands are on the pump whilst you are pumping to stop and out of linear movement.

2/ Take your time pumping up and don't be too heavy handed.

3/ Get a good quality pump to begin with and look after it. Any of the aluminium shaft ones from Cabrinha, Airush or Slingy should be solid enough.

4/ Don't pump your kite too hard. 7 psi is about as hard as any kite should need to be, even this is way hard IMHO.

5/ If you do maintenance every few months on a pump it helps it stay in good nic.

If you're a big guy, buy a pump with the larger volume (longer stroke). It will prevent you from over extending on the upstroke and therefore pulling the cap off.

Hope this helps mate. Good winds,

Hi James

Seeing as though you're looking after your mate with a good deal on the spectrums, I'll look after you with a pump :-).
Free new steel shaft BEST pump - just pm me or come and see me at the beach. I've never broken one or seen one broken.
I live in Brisbane.

Know your pain, Bend your knees and use your arms not your back. Love it if they could make the chamber 10" taller it'd be nice.

Anyone had trouble with this years North pump? Kitehard I agree in atmost cases, but when you buy a kite that says pump your struts to 10 psi, and the cap just pops off, the pump doesnt do the job. Im back to my Cabrinha pumps that are 3 and 2 years old and no probs.

07' North pump bargain $5...PM me

well... you could get a dive tank and fill up your kite like that from your car, 10 pumps of a 9m from my math for $2 if you live and kite in cottesloe.
