For those of you wanting to experience something similar to Snow kiting... you could always try Kite Sandboarding, it's less painful when u hit the deck, seasons always on and Stockton dunes Port Stephens is HUGE! And Fraser Island usually has good wind and is ALL sand.

PS: U can buy my sandboard here: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&item=150005400424

Fly, sounds like fun, but just out of curiosity, how is hitting the sand any softer than hitting the snow???????

it just is so shut upand i want to sell my sandboard
i would much rather land on snow, u can slide to a halt and if u r wearing a helmet it would slid out and your head not take the full force

maybe 1 4 the mythbusters

Snow in Australia is mostly man made and hard (with ice balls). Sand seems to compact and slow your progress better/softer.

Go try it.

Nice powder snow, that would be a different matter, but then u'd have to go to Europe/US.

Or the land of the long white cloud. Closer, cheaper and loads of powder.

"The kite turns like a 12m LEI, but has much better low end. The high end is tricky to define as above 24kn you basically fly, but that has another advantage. if you own a paragliding harness you can hook it up to the kite and float. [Important: Make sure you are tethered and DO NOT fly off a cliff]
"

I hope you are taking the piss.

"For kitesurfing wind will need to be 16-22kt with a 138cm board and a 90kg rider."

some newbie kiter will buy this and kill themselves.
