Im looking for some beginner spots near to sydney.
I know of and have starting kiting @ Botany Bay but was looking to head up towards The Entrance for a few weeks & want to know if there are any particularly good safe spots for a beginner.

Looking at the map Tuggerah Lakes looks quite large but i wouldnt know where on it would be good.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

There's a spot called Sunrise Av on Budgewoi lake that is a top local learners' spot. Just keep driving right to the end. There's a few trees near the eater edge, so a water launch is the go. You can then go downwind for ages and walk back along the shore (watch out for bindii).

This is where they hold the lessons in a nor-easter. You can also try Umina in a Southerly.

If you've got a support boat, anywhere on the lake is good.

If you're after a lesson talk to Erina Sail and Ski (ESS). They're good.

Hey adam, check here:www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3974

I asked almost exactly the same question. Let's see if we get the same answers.

How far along in your learning are you? Are you "on board" already?

See you out there.

Rog.

Apologise for reposting a similar question, i must have glanced over it because i did search a few pages in to see if others had posted the same question.

As for level - last lesson was how to get up on the board and i havent had a chance to get out and practise that so im hoping in the next couple of sessions ill be up.

Thanks for the tip BTW Matt...much appreciated.

Check out www.kitepower.com.au and look up the news section and Winter Roadie -04.

One of the Kitepower instructors did a road trip from Sydney to Cairns and kept a bit of a log along the way. Should point out some good spots up along the east coast.
