Just wondering what teachers taught you, and if you found them to be a good teacher... etc??

I had Lynita Howie (Caution Kites), and she was really good.. ;)

just wondering on your opinion/s and what you think etc.... just so I know for future reference... cheers

Elizabeth

both get consistently good feedback from the people I have spoken to. main difference is that Lynita teaches out of wello and redcliffe, and i believe nigel teaches at south straddie.

i dont think you could go wrong either way, but you might want to get in quick before the season closes... wouldnt worry too much what brand of kite you'll be using either, they all crash the same

I also teach in Brisbane at Brighton mainly and so does Jason from briskites.
I do get negative feedback from students who have been elsewhere but at the end of the day I believe we all do a good job but I can't really comment on Nigel as I haven't seen him in action.
In general, I think we in Brisbane have better contact/quality with the students than other places in SE Qld.
I do from time to time see lessons being done in questionable weather conditions which is a concern.
I use Liquid Force and Best Kites and all of which are available for demo anytime by anyone - just ask.
An interesting point an ex student raised with me the other day was how many people continue on with the sport after lessons. Maybe this is a good indication of how the lessons went?

I once saw an IKO instructor down near lake ainsworth teaching a complete newbie how to fly a kite (by handing them the bar), in gusty 20-30kt winds, flying a 10m with a pulley bar, on the hard packed sand near the water!!!

I later heard that there was some controversy, this person was teaching down there due to having a very bad rep and not being welcome any closer to byron..
