In 2 weeks in going on a kite holiday for 6 months and this looks like just what i need to solve my space saving issues.

does anybody think I will damage my kites using these???

yo surfy vac bags are the go if you wanna save space,ive used them on trips to bali, cocos,interstate when i get them repaired,ive also had my kites sent from the uk in vac bags,with no dramas,some brands dont have a cover over the deflate valve on the bag , so put a small piece of material on the inside under the valve,this stops your kite from getting sucked into deflate hole,it doesnt damage the kite ,just makes it easier to deflate,also folding not rolling your kite is the way to go

I've used bags that didn't have a valve, so you suck the air out and then seal it (like a very large food bag). I've also laid on top of it and sealed it.

It doesn't get the volume down as much but it gets to maybe double the volume of the full vacuum bag and there's no increased risk of damage IMO. It just makes it much easier to pack the kite into the kitebag.
