G'day all,

kite fever can affect people different ways but one of the funniest was one of the guys here was so keen to get out, when going back to his car 40 minutes later after a session and grab a smaller kite, he realised that he left his car running. He had jumped out of his car in such a hurry he forgot to shut the car down!!!! Doh!!!

Anyway, just thought I'd share for a giggle, any one else had something similar happen?

cheers,

Robbie

Was such in a hurry to go in the water that I forgot to remove my car key from my short pocket.

Luckily, I didn't lost it in the water during my sesh! But all the electronic stuff doesn't work anymore. Still work to start the car...that's the important part

Was once in such a hurry that I joined the bridle lines together instead of connecting them to the lines, turned it a bit for a self launch and it blew away down wind

I've grabbed my kite and board in a hurry to the beach before only to have to turn around and get my harness and lines i'd left out drying the night before.

I've gone to hook into the chicken loop for a launch and found I wasn't wearing the harness.

I've changed to a smaller kite, then unhooked, missed a trick and let the bar go only to realise I never hooked my leash up when I changed kites

No leash, Waveslave would be so proud.

pull up on the beach 24+kn cross shore 4'+, already a few out ,rush to set up.
4 hours on the water smile from ear to ear then realised i'd left window open...

looked like someone had emptied a 10kg bag of sand all through the car

wouldn't of liked to clean the vacuum filters at the local car wash

Took my ute in to get a new radiator fitted. The mechanic removed the old one and when carrying it to the scape pile he tripped and dropped it.
About a bucket of sand fell out of it.
He asked if I had been ramming sand dunes?
I said, na but the winds been awsome.
Parking on the beach, nose first into the blowing sand isnt a good idea.

last session on my brand spanking new kite... I noticed the bridle and steering connection points were different, aka bridle was a larks and the steering lines were loops. What i didn't notice was that i had connected up the left steering line to my center so that i only had 2 lines connected to the bar, went for a self launch in offshore conditions, solo kiting at this point. Very lucky I noticed instantly and sprinted towards the kite and it dropped in a good position. very VERY LUCKY!!

This thread is gold. Winter, newish kite, sun setting rushing to set up. Bro launches kite, and to my horror I realized I hadn't attached one side ( ah the perils of moving froma four to a five line kite), kite goes up and over and straight down to the ground!

Not as good as Chris not wearing his harness, classic. Also I only buy cheap sunnies cus they only have a week or so life, they are all at the bottom of the ocean somewhere.

I lost 3 pairs of those fancy Ion sunglasses in a month, lesson learnt I now use safety glasses.
