In a remote area of NE Tas a couple of weeks ago I got a little adventurous in the big family wagon and ended up stuck in the sand dunes. 25kn W over the dune, but I had to get out first. Alone and digging for 3.5 hours I got myself half way out when a Pajero came along.

no tow rope, no snatch strap little other choice, then lets try the kite lines.

Three half hitches around my tow ball, loop around the Pajero tow hook and around the tow ball again, back to the Pajero and finish off with another bunch of half hitches.

It pulled the big green bastard out of there.

I can’t mention the brand of line as that would be pimpy but the wagon is a Ford, it’s excellent for freestyle and free riding, ok in the waves, but lacks a little in the off road dune jumping department.

I flew the kite today and forgot to check the line lengths. It didn't matter, the kite flew the same as always. Sick.

there were four turns between the cars. I guess if the lines have a 300kg breaking strain then 5 lines is 1500kg, looped 4 times makes it about 6 ton breaing strain.

The ozone layer is a little thin, the sun has been ferocious down here of late.

I like a sport that has equipment capable of unbogging a car. How many sports can do that?
