Hi all,

i have been out of the kite scene for over a year now since having a serious injury to my knee.

All has come good now and my kite gear is a little mouldy, however still in good condition.

I am in Perth. W.A. and was wondering if it was too late to get back out in the water this year or if i should be building up some more strength in the gym in preparation for better conditions next summer?

Any thoughts or places to head out?

Hey Buzz Boy,

Perth in the winter can be a blast but you need to have a bit more sensory acuity when it comes to the weather. The winds can be very gusty and the squalls can double the wind speed in seconds.

On the bright side, we get some sick right handers allowing wicked frontside smacks.

If you have a medium to high level of ability and know your safety systems well, then enjoy winter, if not, maybe spend some more time in the gym and wait for next summer.

Good winds,

i last went out on sunday and had an awesome time.
there should hopefully still be decent wind around for the rest of the month maybe a little on the gusty side.

but if your keen it wont matter might have to start wearing the wetsuit soon though.
