I went for a kite at windang today and the life gaurdes joked "Don't expect us to rescue you" I asked what they were talking about and they said that two kiters had just been lost at sandon point and the coast gaurd still had not found them.

That was about 2:30 this arvo. I have not heard anything since. does anyone know what happened?

I went out around this time at south beach and the wind dropped off pretty quickly. i couldn't even re launch the my 12m after it fell out of the sky. i didn't make it past the white water which is probably lucky otherwise i might have been is the same situation. maybe they got caught out the back when the wind died. Hope they found them...

Most locals can handle all situations in the northern Illawarra. I tend to never believe the "so called' stories...

Hope all is OK with those 2 kiters. That was a savage Southerly that came through.

Bit of drama at Kurnell also - www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=41682

WTF...?

.......sounds like your head might be too far up your own butt to notice if they were in a situation they could not handle anyway... but then, from my experience, that attitude is pretty much 'par for course' of people from 'northern illawarra' anyway..
