heading down to brissy next weekend and am unfamiliar with the kitesurfing spots around there, could you guys give me some locations on some flatwater/surf spots around?

lol, if you plan on kiting, plan on bringing wind with you.

If you want to bring booties, fight it out with an interesting tide, have any white/ light coloued kites permanately stained with wello sand, and a sheltered spot, hit wello. [}:)]

If you like very fine sand that makes all white clothes go grey/creme coloued, and no booties needed and an all round kiteable tide, and not too sheltered, go to Brighton/ The Pool.

Otherwise, just visit both

When they keep mentioning Wello - they mean Wellington Point. Probably the best place in Brissy for SW to W. But no good in S or SSW. Anything with East in it you can go to either Brighton/Sandgate or "Wello". But as Liz sais bring some wind with you - it sucks big time at the moment.

Yes, there is wind in the forecast coming Saturday - yeha! Was at wello Saturday past but cut my foot once again! You definitely need booties there. Brighton is best, pool even better but only with right wind - either places no booties required! There's always Pelican Park (over the bridge from Brighton) for the westerlies and if you like chops - head to Suttons (another 5 min up the road).
