Looks like no OS travel this year, best chance might be interstate, haven't done mid winter in the south for over 10 years.

Where to in Oz this August/September warm and windy.

Depends what borders, if any, are open by then. Seems we will be able to fly to NZ soon, but still not travel across state borders in Aus.

Tad early for totally continuous wind, add a month and it'll be on, top spot to grab a camper from Exmouth camper hire and stay down the peninsula.

What accomodation options are there that don't involve camping?

If nz has its borders open you would get winter storms, big seas, about 13 deg c water temp.

Not for the faint hearted. But you do get some stonker sessions if you are a storm chaser.

Oct/nov/dec are better months.

This is a much cheaper and more realistic option.

needessentials.com/collections/ultra-premium-thermal/products/6-4-3mm-ultra-premium-thermal-hooded-chest-zip-wetsuit

Maybe add in one of these. www.thewetsuitdryer.com/

Find a spot with accommodation on the beach. Preferably with an open fire place. An outdoor spa could be nice. Finish off with a couple of 50mm steaks on the bbq and a good rough red. Homemade pasta and a rich bol sauce is nice. We do a vego one that is very satisfying.

September is my favourite month in Exmouth, swell and wind line up with perfect temperatures. Cauncy is right though it doesn't have the 100% consistency you expect from Oct/nov but compared to most locations its still very much season

Hey mate, Google AustalianKiteSurfari. Remote spot north Queensland, but glamping with double beds and full kitchen cook service or fly Cairns and self drive cater for yourself. Winds still crank up there Aug/Sep. Heaps of posts on FB and Youtube. check it out.
