Hey guys! I've got a kiteboard (brunotti dimension 2013) is has about the size of a wakeboard and I asked a few people if it was possible to wakeboard with it (I ride kickers and rails). They told me to better not because a wakeboard has a special bottom, kind of plastic like, so when it gets scratched that it doesn't matter so much. But the kiteboard does not have that layer and I would grind on the fiberglass. They told me it would just break of the fiberglass after some time. Now I wanted to know if that's true, and if yes, is it possible to get a kind of layer in my kiteboard?
Thx guys!

I'm assuming you're using bindings?

it will be fine, go hard or go home.

Ps, do you get 2 points each time you kick straight ?

or is it 6 ?

pss, you will kill a kite board hitting ****, break fins, scratch the f....er to death,

but go for it

Hi
I have been told they are built differently and was even given a new wake board which I chucked in a
moment of crazy cleanup.
A friend had purchase on sale thinking he would kite with it.
We tried this wakeboard kiting and was just too hard getting it going, heaps of rocker which lets u do all types of crazy stuff behind a boat.
It just looked different in bottom profile, fins rails etc so I do thing they are really different.
Straight line towing I think no problem, slides and everything else I think not the same.

The special surface is called Ptex, it can come on some kite boards
Otherwise your kite board will probably last a season which isn't too bad

You can use most kiteboards on kickers and stuff no problem...but they are a lot more fragile than wakeboards.

I snapped a corner off my kiteboard from a wipeout on a funbox on a cable. I got into cable more and more, so i now have a wakeboard and a kiteboard. Same goes the other way...wakeboards are too heavy and have too much rocker to kite with...youd get nowhere.

You'll damage your kiteboard eventually
