I inquired to Fuel (the adventure sports channel on Fox/Austar) about the national champs and other kiteboarding shows. Apparantly the Geraldton nationals have already been shown and will be repeated, and there is another show starting on May 7th - Euro Kiteboarding. Saturday morning at 8am, the latest kiteboarding comps from all over Europe will be shown.
Good to see the sport beginning to get some airtime.

Whats this forum for if not to tell us when your footage is being broadcast

Lift your game pal or risk us devotees mixing sugar in your diesel

and praps even refusing windbreak rights next time round

ive been hassling the producer in Sydney to let me know, well in advance, when the Nats are going to be broadcast so I can let all of you know. She is pretty damn busy as 'Fuel' channel is run by only 2 people!
Im waiting for a call back from her to find out the deal so hopefully Ill be able to shed more light on it all

Gav do you know if the fuel channel is by 'fox' or if it is an 'xyz networks' channel as alot of them are? reason I ask is if its xyz i may be able to get info about playtimes etc and even put in good words to get things shown...

puppet, im a tad slow off the old mark, your reply makes total sense now that i know who you are.DOH!!you dont know how appreciated it was that you were for a windbreak in Gero,so mate not to jepordise the windbreak rights ill get onto "fuel" channel quicksmart!!
after a couple of phonecalls to the producer and no reply so far, one can only do so much. But mate you will be the first to know!By the way did you end up getting a diesel?
And as far as I know "fuel" is part of Fox sports. never even heard of xyz (or what ever it is.)

Thought (if u hadnt known already) you would have picked up on the aka from the 'Cruiser Stolen from Safety Bay' thread. Thats right - it was your windbreak that disappeared

All good now but! You will still have your windbreak next time round - a slightly squeezier version but it'll still play Pixies & other requests @ any required Db level

And - No diesel - decided to stick with the Fuels. New 2nd hand 7M for a reasonable $ just arrived. Looking good for a first trial run today

yeah,

my blue cloud thats been in the shed for far too long might see the open air again tomorrow too,

although i might need to reduce its size a bit for 30 knots !!

ok all, I have spoken to the producer at "Fuel" and she reckons editing of the Gero Nats will start in a couple of weeks and broadcast will hopefully be early May. No exact dates as yet but will keep you posted when I know.
Boxburg , apparantly it was last years Nats that was shown not this years.

Ah, yes, I should have read the Email from Fuel a bit more carefully. Here it is verbatim. Times would be AEST

We do have Kiteboarding on FUEL. We have shown and will repeat the 2004 Kiteboarding Champs and on May 7, we start our premiere series Euro Kiteboarding. Saturday morning at 8am, the latest kiteboarding comps from all over Europe will be shown.

We should be shooting the 2005 National Champs too, but it's not confirmed.
