mate try Elliot Heads ...... its awesome .....10 times bigger than Noosa and acres of flat water .....went there last year ....you will love it. I recall it being about 15 minutes drive from Bundy
Elliott Heads (which is *the* best spot to kite in this area) is perfect on SE to E. NE is ok too, but only at low tide, because you have to launch out the front past the rocks, otherwise you end up in the wind shadow behind the carpark etc.
I've been out at Mon Repos on a N (which was a nukin' 30kts day) and it was pretty much sideshore. Moore Park would also be good on a N or NE at lower tides (no beach at high tide I think).
If you have a 4x4, there's a lot more places to try. The N shore of the Burrum is just one that looks good on anything from E to N.
Forecast for Sat looks like it might be ok: Saturday: E/NE winds 10/15 knots, increasing to 15/20 knots during the afternoon. Low tide is about 2pm on Sat, so even if it goes NE, you'll still be able to launch/land out the front at Elliott.
My GF and I will probably be at Elliott on Sat arvo, so come and say hi if you spot us (we've got red Airush and Best kites)!
Topples....did you get out on either day? We went down for a look on Sat arvo, but it was truly crap. Might have just got going on my 16 (and I'm only a little dude), but that combined with the coral spawn (or whatever the hell it was) made us decide to just go home again.
Sunday would have been pretty well nukin'....I don't bother in weather like that (showery, super gusty, crap conditions)....did you have a go though?
