Does anyone know if you can take kite gear onto cruise ships. We are going with royal Caribbean. They say no skateboards or surfboards? Hope somebody might have prior knowledge. Thanks

I will be taking my kite gear if I do

Cruises stop of and shuttle guests to the islands

If the winds ok take your kite,pump up on the beach,have a kite

Then jump back on the shuttle back to the cruise ship

I can understand no skateboards so no knob head rides around the decks making an arse of himself (although I would love to see some joker grind the rail of a ship ... and fall in ...)

As for kite gear, it's none of their business what you put in your bag. I would have through cruise ships would have no real limits on baggage provide it fits in your cabin.

However, as has been said, why spoil a cruise ship holiday lugging kiteboarding gear along? Do you know if the ship is going to stop anywhere you're going to be able to use it, and have time to use it?

Thanks guys going to nuemea (new Cali) and Fiji. Definantly would like to kite there. Been there before I started kiting. Hoping to get out to the islands for culture and kite. You can usually get off the boat about 8am and get back on by 5pm. Heaps of time for everything. Looks like I'll call the ship company and let you guys know how I get on. They are pretty fussy no cricket bats either!

if it gets a bit touch and go you could always dump the missus in exchange for enjoyable baggage
