There was some news last week at the annual ISAF (International Sailing Federation), that the federation has begun the process in recognising Kiteboarding as a sailing class.
Ian Huscle, CEO Best Kiteboarding said,
"Being a part of the ISAF, kiteboarding will have a more official organisation, with worldwide recognition, credibility and authority that can sanction events. This would lead to better organised world championships and a greater corporate paticipation and media coverage."
By being added as an official sailing class of the ISAF, this could lead to possible paticipation in the Olympics.
I think that the course racing would be more suited to an Olympic style event.
-What events do you guys think would make it into the Olympics?
-Should our events in Australia have more time set aside for Racing rather than just Freestyle and Surf?

yeah racing would be the way to go in the Olympics, i think having a freestyle or wave riding comp would be harder to find good conditions,
they could even build a big arena with massive fans...... something like that! any ideas?

We'd have better luck with getting kite course racing in me thinks.
Then again ISAF kicked out multi hull so the chances of getting in the sailing events is pretty slim as there are only 9 classes allowed. This is due to the low numbers and poor marketability (I know not a word but it sounds cool) of sailing.
