Hey everyone,

We are now two days down out of five of the First Kitegirls Riding Clinic. We have covered a bunch of theory and practical tips and have setup and changed all of the girls bars to make their riding more comfortable and improve stance and posture. So far so good, everyone riding with great posture and style.

The video of the first day revealed lots of small tips and improvements for the girls and they all seemed to improve on the second day of riding.

Two days of riding in opposites ends of the scale. First day at Woodies where four girls rode in 25 to 30 knot winds and made it look good!

Meanwhile I rescued two lost kites from others at the location and saved a windurfer girl from being blown all the way to Coogee. Our girls all made it back to the beach safely in the strengthening winds unassisted. Doesn't sound like much to you? Well two of the girls had never really sailed in more than 20 knots before! A great triumph!

Second day at Peli Point in light to moderate conditions (8-13 knots) where the girls all had fun riding in the smooth water back and forth past the video camera, lots of good footage to analyse this morning.

A great friendly casual atmosphere to the course and we are all enjoying the learning and commeraderie of being a small group of likeminded people having fun.

More updates in a couple of days,

Sounds cool Darren, are you planning on doing a "boys" one?

Hey everyone,

I do intend to do more of this kind of course in the future, but it probably wont be this side of winter. I'd like to organise another one for the ladies and one for the guys as well when we get some consistent winds, as half of the value of the course comes from riding in front of the camera and then analysing the footage later in a group learning session.

We have been slowing down the footage and even going frame by frame to explore what is going right and wrong with the tricks. We had some major breakthroughs with yesterdays footage today. The girls were super amped to go out again today but alas, no wind, so double water time tomorrow with helmet radios. All the tricks and other theory is in their manuals that they study up on at night and then reinforce with the video before kiting and practicing next day.

Should be good day for wind tomorrow. It's been great fun!

good winds, (geez, in fact, any winds!)
