I've got a day off tomorrow from work and thinking of going for a kite. I usually kite woodies or safety bay but the wind tomorrow is NE. Anyone kited Pt Walter or lucky bay applecross on a NE? I was also looking at maybe Mandurah in the estuary. Any suggestions?

NE not much good at lucky bay or pt Walter. If you experienced enough goa next to apple cross jetty. Just don't let yourself get too close to the boardwalk (there's rocks underwater and a big wall) or drift off the edge of the bank if the wind drops out as you'll have a long swim home

Attadale beach is the way to go on the swan .rigg at attadale and then you can traverse in the Melville direction for more clear wind if it gets to much north in it.The mandurah estuary is good at wannanup beach slightly north of the Dawesville cut.From there you have a multitude of space and if you want to go for a cruise to the east side you can get some butter smooth flat water.

I have noticed over the years that the swAn has stronger wind generally.Especially on light wind days!

Yeah man ...easterlies are early .september easterlies arive at sunrise and build and peak around 9 to 10 then fade from there.

no need for a windmeter . If the sand is being picked up on the beach it is 20+ knots

whitecaps but no sand 15-20 knots


and easterlies are always better at dawn until 10ish although in summer they can go for longer but dawn is always the best time
