G'day All

Ive just started kitesurfing in the last month and haveing alot of fun. I realise how dangerous the sport can be to both participants and spectators.

Im really looking for advise on kitesurfing spots aorund perth that are suitable and safe for beginners, and the best conditions ie wind direction for these spots. Currently im sticking to lucky bay in sw winds.

Lucky Bay is a great spot. Can beginners please stay north (downwind)of the experienced riders. There's plenty of beach. It's a nightmare trying to launch and land with 4 or 5 kites in the way.

Cheers

hahaha,
Great comment Paul. As an "experienced kiter" ,you should be able to keep clear of less experienced kiters ,so asking them to go somewhere else is a bit much.
On another point, looking at Lucky bay, it is not a very safe spot to kite, due to the proximity of the trees, wall, road, cars, houses on the other side of the road etc etc.If you want safe places, go on the ocean, the wind is better, less gusts, less to hit. There is so much space in WA, and so much is untouched.

Hey boss, i'm pretty new to the spot aswell so definetly appreciate the need to search out good spots for newbies.
woodman point is really good. safe launch area, shallow water and the breeze is not gusty.
there are lots of guys down there also leanrning and everyone is super friendly.
have fun learning, riding as many spots as you can will help you advance.

word of note for lucky bay.

Dont walk up the beach with your kite at the zenith or with it over the beach (near the road) when walking upwind. Down it and walk it back up in your hands or get further out.

its gusty at the best of times and I've seen numerouse people getting trashed.
