Big thanks to Steve and all the gang at Kitepower. Today's demo day was a ripper with 30+ knot winds at times and every size and brand of 08 kit as far as the eye could see. Everyone got to try so many kites which wouldn't be possible without the support of a local kite shop. Days like this are a great learning experience and the perfect opportunity to choose your weapon for the season and know you made the right decision...... I hope.

Also great to see so many kiting mates again. Reminds me how lucky we all are to be part of such a friendly and helpful community.

I only tried one kite, the 8m SB3... what an easy kite to fly, good range, great lift and handled the gusty conditions very well.

The 10m SB 3....what a kite!!! I had a blast on it, easly held me in the gusty 25-30kn conditions without a issue at all. Great de-power and range on the bar, and surprising low end grunt when the wind dropped in the afternoon. Heaps of boost and nice float on the way down. The construction on this years Cab's are great, looks absolutely bomb proof. All I can say, is bring on more wind to ride it in!!!!

Hi guys Dave hear from slingy. I wanted to say thanks to everyone who came down and to steve for having such a great day at dolls. Was really nice to meet some new faces and be welcomed into your kiting comunity.
I had the video camera and yes we got a bit of everyone. As soon as I finish my current project I'll get it up on the web for you guys..
Also i would like to thank my good friend Lee Kavangh for coming down helping me set up and get peole out on the new gear plus the 2 kite retrievals he did for other riders..

I vow that Boardies will be kept with Kite kit from now on for use over my wetsuit in case of a Dolls Pt session. Really hoping I'll never need them again though. PS: Maybe I can buy your boardies. I'm guessing that pretty soon, you won't have much time for kiting anymore.....

What bar size, line length and rear line kite setting on the Nemi demo 10 did you have it on?

With the ozone kites, are there any adjustments for bar pressure and turning speed? I found them nice and boosty but not enough feedback to the rider at the bar end. Would like to try it on different settings but couldn't seem to find any on the kite without making home made bridal mods.

Wondering also if you had the LF Havoc 2008 to test?

Yes it was flown several times, it was on a waroo 07 bar, 55cm, and we used the 3rd/middle knot. It was quite obvious that this is where the lines had been connected many times before, and the knot used really only has to do with getting the bar position right for the average rider anyway. There is no magic to this stuff, all competent kiters here know how to tune a bar to suit themselves, and the majority of people that ride the kite were current Waroo 07 owners, so they are used to setting it up.
I cannot remember which rear tow points were connected, I think it was AB. That really only makes a difference to bar effort (and the effort is seems to take to turn the kite, its just a leverage thing), although there is a small difference in sheeting range over the 3 options.
No to LF.
Ozone - you need to ride the kite on the water, at normal speed and then the rear line feedback is good, and light. People without much experience on the Ozones will tend to think they need to shorten the rear lines, but this just ends in over sheeting and choking the kite. The kite does not display obvious oversheeting until you have it backstalling.
We are suggesting to Ozone to make the rear line adjusters to have a longer throw.
It is quite easy to tie some knots in the rear line bridles if needed. Not really any different to choosing a knot on the Waroo/HP.

I did not get to fly the HP myself and I will not get a chance to for another week or so, we had to send it to another retailer, and will not get it back for a week or so. I'll post a review when I do.

good testing of small kites , Big Col i hear he did it again and

it wouldnt be too hard to experement, basically make a new rear bridal, and vary the lengths between the 2 rear attach point, like the mod on the original instinct was, i modded my 11m and have never looked back, the kite is soo much better to fly now.

hhaha, there's no such thing. Every kiter i know is an expert on kite design, disagrees with something that the manu has done on their kite and has modded/fiddled and "improved" their gear.
