Last night round sunset at Scabs, in a nice gust, I lost my bar for the 1st time in ages and watched as the brand new safety line started doing it's thing - then PIONG~!!! Snappo on the safety and oh f*** there goes my kite!!!
Karl saw it happen and kindly gave about 50m+ of ground to check with me then set off on a 400m+ pursuit to chase down the kite currently in auto pilot mode!
Not only am I grateful for retrieving my kite, but Karl also got there just as a surfer was attempting to rescue the kite by grabbing 2 lines! 2 saves for the price of one very long walk up wind.
By the time I swam in and made it down the beach (almost hurking in the process) it would have been all over for both kite and onlookers. top work. As it turns out other tahn the safety there appears no damage.
