What a day!

Wind was easily 30 knots, gusting over 30. Some say 40?

Whatever the case .. guys were fully powered up on 5m kites.

Big air comp was massive, with 12 second hangtime.

Plenty of injuries in this kind of wind.

So far: 1 x Broken Arm, Joe Millen from ARSA who flew over from east for the event stuffed his ankle big time. Rumour is one of the New Kiteboarding guys broke a rib.

Some mega bullets of wind would come through and carry jumpers far close to the beach than expected, and if the water is on the way out...

Abolutely nuclear wild conditions. Sand in every orriface. Kiters everywhere!

More of the same today...

Way cool,

sorry to hear about the damage to some of the crew.

Anyone filming any of it?

Was there today and while I read that kiting gets called Gay what I saw today was as far from being Gay as Bull Fighting. After being out doing my own happy thing in the morning I arrived to see 30 knots and some of the most insane kiteloops being done with what looked like big kites.Mean while there were others just pushing there absolute limit. For years I thought kiting was only for light wind.
Far from Gay but very Happy indeed.Looks like a great event and the injury list goes to show that bodies are on the line(scuse the pun)
Hope to join the crowd next year. One last thing the Priory looks set to go off tonight.

The Airush guys had a pretty big camera on the beach and the big kiteloops were from them.
