Whats your oppion on converting normal surfboards to kiteboards. I'm not sure whether to lash out and buy myself a rocket fish, or just to convert one of my old surf boards. It's 5'10, thin, and standard width. I'm thinking of getting the 5'5 rocket fish. Not sure what to do. I still would like to do airs on the surf board but, off waves ect. What do you think?

I'm currently riding my 6'6" as my 6'4" is getting put back together, snapped it surfing. It's too big but still usable, my 6'4" feels better.

I have tried using an older 6'2" but it just flexed beneath my feet too much as it was quite thin(2 1/4" thick). I just kept waiting for it to snap. Still think around 6'2" is ideal.

Before you put in the footstraps just try out your old one and see how it goes.It's really good for your kiting to go without footstraps. Just give yourself a little more space than normal from other people as you come off a bit at first jibing and riding toeside.

Havn't tried a you beaut shop one yet but am eager to try...

just make a twin fin fish out of a 5 dollar tip board that looks like its been left out in your backyard for 10 years and most probably was, round the nose, cut the tail, add a few layers of glass with blue pigment in it, no one will know the f#ckin difference. works fine, you can even come 4th in a wave comp with one if u like, just remember your not surfing and never will be, everything works.
