During this morning's rush hour a kitesurfer was arrested as he tried to board a northbound Victoria line tube from Stockwell. He had been spotted by a member of the station staff carrying a rucksack and the police were called. Within minutes, an armed response team apprehended him just before he made it on to the train.

"He was wearing a rucksack marked 'Best Kiteboarding' as he passed through the ticket barrier" said an eye witness.

The police's worst fears were confirmed when the rucksack was opened and found to contain a 13m Best Hellfish and a pump.

"Had he been able to board the tube and inflate the leading edge, who know what could have happened" said a SO19 officer at the scene. "The resulting explosion could have crippled a tube network that is just starting to return to normal after the attacks on 7th July."
