Hi everyone, in order to successfully plan for what should be the first, of what might become a series of major annual events, we are looking for an indication of the likely number of starters. This is required for Planning purposes. It would be great to see some registrations from interstate visitors also.

Kicking off I'm in.

Please register your intention to participate by replying to this thread.

Remember Day 1 is for everyone, an opportunity to test your own abilities and have some fun followed by a Dinner (included in the registration fee) and Auction at Edz Sport Bar with all proceeds to Red Kite.. It's a great cause helping kids with cancer.

Day 2 will conclude with a BBQ courtesy of WAKSA and a Trophy Presentation at Edz Sport Bar . The trophys will remain on Permanent Display at Edz Sport Bar and be presented to the winner every year.

Registration will be $50 of which $30 is targetted for Red Kite and the balance to pay for a meal on Saturday night.

DATE : 20th & 21st of December 2008

TIME : 1pm and onwards each day.

LOCATION : South Beach Fremantle

FORMAT : Day 1 - Competitors will run a course trying to complete it in the best time they possibly can. Competitors will be able to compete as many times as they like to try and get their best time. Best times will qualify for the next day’s heats.

A wind up bbq will take place at EDZ SPORTZ BAR which is a 1 minute drive from the event. All competitors times will be displayed and everyone will be able to see how they went in the competition and if they rank in the next days heats. Also on this night an auction will take place with various items up for grabs to help raise more money for the Red Kite organization. We require sponsors to donate products for this auction. All sponsors will be heavily advertised and mentioned on the night.

2nd Day - Heats will take place over the day. Standard Yachting Rules will apply for this second days racing with a 10 min start sequence, as our fastest race each other to determine out fastest and smartest Kite sailor .The best times will win the various heats which will categorized into ELITE (pro), OPEN, WOMENS and JUNIORS.

Again a wind up/presentation night will take place at EDZ SPORTZ BAR where the events winners will be announced and presented. All sponsors will be heavily advertised and mentioned on the night.

COURSE : Will be kept under raps until closer to the event. The course will consist of a up wind triangle, starting to windward for an up wind beat to the top mark then a blast back off the wind to the finish. It is expected that the course will take 12-15 mins to complete for the fast guys.

How about making "non-kiters" tickets for wives and/or children who want to come to the BBQ as well?

Keep the names comming boys and girls.
Yes you can register on the day, but it would be good for us this end if we know some numbers in advance.
Non Kiters can enjoy all the same benifits as kiters for $30 . $10 for red kite and $20 for meal @ Edz Sports bar and soft drinks "n" BBQ snags on the beach.
For those who want to just join up with their partners for Dinner can just Pay $20 at the Bar.
I sailed the course again on Sunday it is awsome. The down wind leg is super fast!
It took me 12mins to get to the top mark , then about 45 secto get back!.... with no falls. 11m Fuel +149 Mutant 18kn. The bar has been set.
