Mission's (actually south mission's) position makes it not as great as one would first expect. Too much easterlie in the wind makes it directly onshore, and at a high tide, it's a pretty technical launch. Dunk Island can also caust a bit of disturbance. Having said that, the times I have been to Mission, there hasn't been enough wind to get going. But I am really looking forward to checking it out in a SE at low tide. Dunk Island looks pretty good too, but I would suggest catching a water taxi out there rather than trying to make a crossing.
Heading north from Mission I would highly reccomend Kurrimine Beach and Cowley Beach. I've kited in both and they're great fun. If you're in a camper or motorhome, there are plenty of spots/parks to stop overnight in.
Bramston also looks good, though I haven't kited there.
